- The Mayor's Commission on Women invites you to attend this year's Women and Money Conference on August 21 from 8:30 A.M. - 1:30 P.M. Manisha Thakor, who was our featured lunch speaker last year, has agreed to return to do a complete one-hour workshop for everyone. She'll talk about the 5 power steps to financial success, how to talk to family and friends about money and lots of other hands-on, practical advice. In addition, we have a new workshop this year on the "Psychology of Money" that will help us all figure out how we spend, why we spend and how to change our habits among other helpful ideas for money management.
Our vendors are new this year (with lots of free stuff and door prizes) and we have a pasta bar planned for lunch, so this year's conference looks to be new and exciting. Over lunch, a panel of experts will answer your questions on anything from budgeting to investing to credit problems. So bring a friend, daughter, sister or co-worker and join us for a great morning.
To register, call 437-2700. The location is the Continuing Education Center of SCC at 301 S. 68th Street Place with available, free parking. Breakfast and lunch are included in the $25 registration fee. There is also a registration form available on friendsofmcw.org, but calling directly will get you registered and allows you to pay with a credit card.
