Our programming year wraps up this month with WBON Charter Member Jan Gauger. She will speak about:
•Life inside local government
•How the process develops from citizen concern to established policy
•Furthering women's representation on both state and local levels of politics
Please join us to enjoy one of WBON's favorite speakers!
Jan Gauger is co-owner of One More Time Consignments and a former Lancaster County Commissioner. Many of our members already know and love Jan through her years with WBON, her 4-year Board standing as Treasurer, and her constant steadying hand and calming demeanor in the ups and downs of business ownership. But Jan also has a public life as a four-term member of the Lancaster County Board of Commissioners and was the FIRST WOMAN elected to any Board of Commissioners or Supervisors in the State of Nebraska, ever! She helped establish the North 27th Business and Civic District and served as its President and on its Board for 15 years. She also worked on the establishment of the Antelope Valley Project and was a great proponent of this major city improvement. Jan has worked on many political campaigns, with a particular interest in women's representation on the state and local levels.
